knitter's anonymous

i was knitting in my corner of the sofa again.

during a commercial break, my mom just looked at me.

she looked at me until i looked back.

and she said, "i'm worried for you.

"i think you're knitting too much.

"you need an intervention."

i tried to express my feelings of betrayal the best i could and said, "mom, it's okay.

"i can stop.

"i know how to stop."

so i put away my yarn and needles.

later that night i stayed up until one weaving some yarn together.
